Going through some tough times right now; does anyone need an Administrative Assistant with over 20 years of experience? Although I'm planning on attending the reunion, I might be a no-show due to personal circumstances.
Up to this point, what have I been up to? (No good, as one of my past bosses would quip.) I got married in 1984, and am still married to the same guy. Just one year after we were married, we took a car trip out to the Western U.S., staying over at the Grand Canyon and some other National Park that I can't remember the name of. Our recent travels included England, Scotland, San Francisco, and Las Vegas (Hoover Dam was worth the trip; Vegas itself? Meh.).
Personal problems have really zapped us lately, and although I won't go into too much detail, my personal health has not been the greatest (neither has my husband's; he's on disability). My left kidney will have to come out sometime this year even though it was originally scheduled for last year. Right now, the doctor is concentrating on my good kidney, the right one, to make sure it's working as well as possible.
The reason why the doctor couldn't take care of the left kidney last year? I had a brain aneurysm last September. Yes, I survived (this is *not* my clone talking), but I was on disability for a couple of months. And now I'm struggling to find another job in this crappy economy.
UPDATE: No job as yet, but I had a recruiter contact me, so I'm hopeful. I've taken MS Office 2007 courses to update my resume (will be starting an intermediate Excel course this week) in the hopes that some company will *finally* hire me.
On a lighter note, I had a short story published back in 2002 or so, and have been working on a novel ever since. Naysayers say what you want, but I'm pushing ahead with it; I've waited too long already.
