It hurt my heart to see Elaine's name on this page. We were never "close" friends, but I remember her as one of the sweetest people I have ever met. I don't remember Elaine ever being angry or short or mean to anyone. She always had a smile and a nice word for me. May God hold her in the palms of His hands.
I was deeply saddened to see Elaine's name here as well. Does anyone know what happened? She was such a sweet person - I was really looking forward to reconnecting with her. She will be missed.
Elaine, I often think of you and your pure heart and selfless soul. You were one of the few people that I knew that would truly give their right arm if someone needed it. Rest in peace, sweet girl.
I first met Elaine back in 2nd grade at St. Joseph's in Maplewood. She always wore the prettiest dresses on 'dress-down' days!! We were close friends then and I remember how lovely her parents were when I would go over her house. By the time I returned back to Union (8th grade), we were pretty much strangers and the friendship was just a childhood memory. Around 1996, I went to visit a friend that turned out to live next door to her childhood home and they told me the sad news. I was told that she was having difficulties with life and that she died of an overdose. Elaine, Rest in Peace. I will always remember you as the little girl with the prettiest dresses!

Elaine had a heart of gold. She was truly beautiful inside and out. I believe she passed away in her 20's and I often think of her.Lynda Pilkington
